    That may well be a good point. Thanks to Doug Horne's work, I believe that the Zapruder film cannot be taken at face value. This sort of film clean-up, by making things sharper, allows in some ways for the unnaturalness of the film to become more visible. For instance, the size discrepancy between the limo and the people in the background is the most obvious evidence of alteration. I think it's easier to recognize when the extant film has been cleaned-up. But I also agree with you: any cleaned up version should not be taken as 'authoritative'. It should instead just be used to better imagine what actually did happen (and is not represented on the film).
