As a work of the American federal government, the recording is in the public domain. This two-hour tape recording of the communications of Air Force Onepersonnel following the assassination is a new discovery which was recently donated to the National Archives. As part of NARA’s roll-out strategy for this high-profile item, the digitized recording was uploaded to Wikimedia Commons at the same time as it was revealed on archives.gov. We hope that the upload of these files to Wikimedia Commons will help increase their exposure while encouraging Wikimedians to add value to them through transcribing them or using them as encyclopedic source material and subject matter.
AS DOUG HORNE'S ARRB MEMO NOTES: THE COMPLETE TAPE OF THREE RADIO TRANSMISSION GOING AT THE SAME TIME FROM AF1 WOULD BE SIX TO SEVEN HOURS OF TAPE.
AND AS VINCENT SALANDRIA POINTS OUT IN HIS ESSAY TALE OF THE TAPES
T.H. WHITE AND PIERRE SALINGER BOTH DESCRIBE CONVERSATIONS THAT ARE NOT ON EITHER THE LBJ LIBRARY TAPE OR THE RECENTLY DISCOVERED CLIFTON/RAAB TAPE.
THE CBS NEWS REPORT THAT CAME OUT TODAY (1/31/12) ALSO MISTAKENLY REFERS TO THE CLIFTON/RAAB TAPE AS BEING THE COMPLETE TAPE, WHEN WE KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT ISN'T.
I DON'T EXPECT YOU TO CORRECT YOUR BLARING HEADLINE DAVID, AS IF YOU CORRECTED YOUR MISTAKES YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TIME TO TRY TO DEBUNK ANYTHING ELSE.

God is this interesting.
And you are right Bill, this is still a very much abridged version of the tape. There is at least an hour forty minutes not accounted for. Maybe even longer.
So here is the question: Why did we have to wait for over 45 years to hear that the military was trying to track down Lemay after Kennedy was killed and when decisions were being made about where to do the autopsy and how to get the body there?
Another query: Why can't we hear the rest of it?
An even more important to me and even casting more backwards negative light on the ARRB: Why couldn't the ARRB find this?
Another question: Who took it upon themselves to edit it? And what did they do with the rest of the tape?
This is an incredibly interesting story and I am glad the MSM is picking up on it.
This is a story that the Mainstream Media can run with - and we don't have to push the idea that there was any conspiracy, just find out what happened to the evidence - the original complete tape - and it appears that other copies exist and are out there even though the military and the government can't seem to find their copy.
It was on ABC TV news tonight - and others are picking up on it. We have to get them - the MSM to ask the question of what became of the original unedited tapes?
