I point out the preceding coal monopoly lasted for some 3 centuries and was not broken until an alternate mode of transport made entry into society and commerce.
We would be doing well indeed if 1 or 2 alternatives to petroleum surface and can remain in the hands of the general public, rather than a new version of the Hostmen.
